Chinese daughter of 6th Division Marine looking for her father

A half American, half Chinese woman is looking for her father. She is 67 years old.  Her mother lived in old Tsingtao city and she met her father, a US Marine named Johnny, in the 1940s.  They had a few happy years together until US forces withdrew from China in 1948. The mother believed that Johnny found out about their daughter from one of his fellow Marines and that Johnny returned to China in the 1990s to look for their daughter.

The daughter has gone to the US embassy in Beijing for help in finding her father. Although she knows that he might not still be alive, she would like to know who he was and what he looked like. The embassy was unable to help since she does not know her father's last name, but they asked what unit he served with.

The daughter would like to know which units of the Sixth Marine Division were stationed in Qingdao (Tsingtao) and which unit was stationed at the University Road camp, which was on the outskirts of Shandong University in Qingdao.

If you can help, please contact Fermi Qi, the daughter-in-law of the daughter.  She lives in Qingdao, China. Her cell phone number is 86-13605322828.  Her e-mail is 13605322828@163.com.
