Question about the Purple Heart Medal

Hello -

My father John L. Lamarre died last year and I want him to be buried at Arlington.  Arlington states that I need to give them a citation of the purple heart he received from wounds sustained in Battle in Okinawa in 1945.  I have all of his paperwork: Certificate of Honorable and Satisfactory Service, Report of Separation, Honorable Discharge Cert., Award of Disability Pension and even the letter to his parents notifying he was wounded in battle - but nothing that says he received the Purple Heart, except the engraved purple heart itself and his name in the back of the 6th Division yearbook.  Can someone tell me if it even exists or where I could look to find it?  Arlington said they even looked up his medical records and couldn't find anything related to his getting a purple heart.  I am gutted as I want to have him buried there so I can visit his grave.  Please let me know if you can help me.  Many thanks,  Michelle O'Brien
